Chiara Scissa, a PhD candidate in Law at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, participates in the European Migration Network (EMN) on Disaster-Induced Displacement and Migration, Climate Change and Environmental Degradation, presenting the legal and juridical approach adopted by Italy to respond to disaster-induced migration along with the results of the first analysis conducted on national disaster permits.

The next Swedish Presidency conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 12, 2023, in Sweden, and aims to explore the potential impact of climate change on migration in EMN member countries (EU member states except Denmark) and Observer countries in Europe and beyond. This important event provides a unique opportunity to explore the interaction between climate change and migration, the legal and policy responses currently available in European countries, and the future prospects for such displacement. The Conference aims to bring together EMN national points of contact, members of the steering committee, representatives of the European Commission, political representatives from EMN member and observer countries and others, EU agencies, NGOs, international organizations and academia.
